Surajit Bag

Surajit Bag is Visiting Associate Professor and Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Transport and Supply Chain Management, College of Business and Economics, at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; he is also a Full Professor at Excelia Business School in France and an adjunct Associate Professor at IMT Ghaziabad, India, specializing in supply chain management and the circular economy, and he specialises in empirical research methods applied to supply chain sustainability. He holds two doctorates: a PhD in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg and a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in India.

Before entering academia he spent eleven years in senior positions in manufacturing industry, including Section Head for Supply Chain at Tega Industries’ South African plant. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing and of the International Journal of Applied Logistics, sits on several journal editorial boards, and has been listed among the world’s top 2% of scientists.
