Recommended area. Palermo Centrale, Via Roma, Piazza Marina and the Kalsa offer the best compromise: Palermo Centrale gives the clearest rail connection to CNR (train to Palermo La Malfa, then a 4-minute walk), while Piazza Marina and the Kalsa are within walking distance of Palazzo Chiaramonte-Steri and of the Thursday social event at the Botanic Garden.

- Compare the total price. Check whether breakfast, city tax and cancellation are included. Rates and availability in Palermo can change quickly.
- Check the walking route. Historic-centre streets can include uneven paving. Confirm step-free access, lift availability and luggage arrangements directly with the property when relevant.
- If travelling by car. Parts of central Palermo are within a restricted-traffic zone. Check vehicle access, permits and parking before arrival.
