David Fitzsimons

David Fitzsimons is the Director of the European Remanufacturing Council (Conseil Européen de Remanufacture), based in Brussels, where he represents companies and trade associations that extend product life through remanufacturing, refurbishment and related processes. He is also a founder and management board member of Oakdene Hollins, a consultancy specialising in the circular economy, product stewardship, EU Ecolabel and innovation services.

Role at the European Remanufacturing Council
Since January 2017 he has led the Council’s effort to grow European remanufacturing sales from around €30 billion to €100 billion by 2030, engaging sectors such as automotive, aviation, heavy equipment, IT, imaging and electronics.

A frequent speaker at international conferences and advisor to Horizon-funded R&D projects, he works with governments and businesses to develop policies, metrics and business models that scale remanufacturing and other value-retention processes across Europe and beyond.
