Okechukwu Okorie

Okechukwu Okorie is Senior Lecturer in Engineering Design for Sustainability in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester, UK, and a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow. He obtained his PhD in Sustainable Manufacturing Systems from Cranfield University in 2020 and previously worked at the Exeter Centre for Circular Economy at the University of Exeter. His research addresses sustainable manufacturing, the quantification of circular economy strategies and their application in digital manufacturing, life cycle assessment and carbon accounting, circular value chains and circular business models, smart manufacturing and remanufacturing, simulation and modelling of manufacturing systems, condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, and smart decision support for end-of-life products.

Under his Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship he is developing a hybrid top-down and bottom-up circular economy modelling approach for manufacturing sectors, building the evidence base needed to cut Scope 3 emissions and deliver net zero manufacturing. He is Associate Editor for Engineering Management at Frontiers in Industrial Engineering.
