Jelena Kurilova

Jelena Kurilova, who publishes as Jelena Kurilova-Palisaitiene, is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, Sweden, where she works in the Division of Environmental Technology and Management, Department of Management and Engineering. She has expertise in production systems and business models for remanufacturing and helps industrial companies and product owners shift to remanufacturing in order to become more sustainable. During her doctoral studies she focused on developing lean improvements for the specific challenges of remanufacturing processes, and she combines industrial experience of lean manufacturing with academic competence in production systems for remanufacturing.

Her work addresses the Remanufacturing Readiness Level and product suitability for remanufacturing, as well as the economic, environmental and social benefits of remanufacturing, and she applies the Remometer analytical tool that enables companies to assess their remanufacturing potential. She has been the main applicant and leader of the ElevatoRe, iCURE and Remometer projects and has contributed to several further Swedish research projects on remanufacturing and circular production.
