Cormac O’Prey is a medical device development engineer and product development consultant based in the Cambridge area, with over 20 years’ experience in the field. He is the founder and director of Kestrel Technology Consulting within Kestrel Consultancy Group, where he supports companies in medical devices, healthcare, smart energy and sustainable technologies with product and business development.
His work spans drug-delivery systems, diagnostics, surgery, ophthalmology, home healthcare and technology due diligence, with a strong focus on risk management and project leadership. He is a long-standing member of BSI’s BS8887 committee on Design for Manufacture, Assembly, Disassembly and End of Life Processing and project lead for the “Sustainable Design in Medical Devices” group, helping to shape standards for sustainable design and circularity in medical technologies.
